Twilight

Search beyond the iron fence amid the roses
long since bloomed and gone.

The summer's song tis now a passing memory
and autumn nights proclaim my love for thee.

For in the dried and cool autumn eve
we sit behind the shadowed garden wall.

To watch each twilight darken moonlit lovers,
clinging to the smallest shred of time,
of moments as one.

You take my hand and in that wondrous breath
I see the world in some small measure as ours.

A wonder yet beheld,
together through the darkening night.
